HOME COACHING GRANTS ACMP Home Coaching Program Application Form* (*PDF format, requires Adobe Reader)
The purpose of the ACMP Home Coaching Program is to encourage amateur musicians who meet regularly as a group to engage a professional coach, with the expectation that the experience will lead to more rewarding ensemble playing. Those of us who have been lucky enough to work with a gifted coach know how much an ensemble can advance in just a short time and thereby derive increased musical satisfaction. Here is how it works. Eligibility is without regard to abilities or self-ratings. The only requirement is that the group meet regularly and faithfully work on a piece to the point where coaching would enhance the music-making experience. While the program is intended for ACMP members - and at least one player must be an ACMP member - non-members may participate in one session. Grants will be made to match up to 50% of the coach’s fee, the balance to be paid by the participants. ACMP will make payment to the coach on receipt of an invoice that we send directly to him/her before coaching begins. In addition, evaluation forms will be provided for each participant to complete and return directly to the Foundation office. These will help us assess the value of this program. When the group is ready, contact the ACMP office for an application form, or download the Home Coaching Program Application Form , which should be sent AT LEAST ONE MONTH in advance of the session. One member of the group should submit the names and addresses of the participants, where and approximately when the session(s) will take place, and the name and address of the coach with whom you wish to work. ACMP will be happy to assist in finding a coach if you are unsure. Of course, to derive the greatest benefit, it is important that the repertoire be chosen with care; it should be comfortably within the technical and musical capabilities of the players. Further, it should be music with which the coach is somewhat familiar. |
